I lived in a city at one time, and had a bike locked up (so I thought) in the car port. However, one morning I went out to get on the bike to go to work, and it wasn't there. I was not a happy camper!
Later, I lived in another city in another country, and did not have even a car port. But I found a folding bike that I was able to keep inside my apartment without losing half the hallway. I was able to get out and ride around the neighborhood, and not have to worry about losing the bike.
